Rides Make Stories. Stories Make You Ride.
It’s about the story that starts when the tires hit dirt, when you ignore the “not today” voice in your head, and when you come home covered in dust, a little wrecked, and already planning the next ride.
MTB Diaries is a home for the wild, thoughtful, slightly unhinged part of mountain biking—the part technology still can’t measure. It’s where we chase adventure, write it down (sometimes), roast a trail or two, and remind ourselves that riding is as much about why we ride as it is about how.
This isn’t a race recap site. It’s not trying to sell you carbon anything—but buy it if you like it.
It’s not a step-by-step how-to (though, sure, we’ll try to help you not die on sketchy corners).
It’s not always serious. But it’s not fluff, either.
This site exists because mountain biking isn’t just about getting better, faster, or geared up—it’s about getting out there.
A space to ride, reflect, and tell stories that make you want to ride again.
We seek a creative community of riders who:
- Think a trail can be sacred and ridiculous at the same time
- Know that sharing a story can be just as satisfying as nailing a line
- Are ready to connect with something bigger than algorithms
Jesse Dyrt
Yeah, he shows up here sometimes. Another wandering poet-philosopher with dirt in his teeth and a few too many opinions about canned fish (spoiler alert: he’s a pusher).
He’ll guide some of this—but MTB Diaries is bigger than one voice. It’s a gathering place for stories, perspectives, and real-life dirt magic from all over the MTB world.
Why It Matters
Because riding is only half the game.
The other half? Sharing it. Living it. Making meaning from it.
And laughing about it later, maybe with a cold drink and a few scrapes to show for it.
This is mountain biking with a little more soul, a little more story—but to be honest about the same amount of mud or dust, or both.
We argue this is the OG mountain bike ethos. Yes, things have changed. And that’s exactly why simply getting out there is more relevant than ever.
We’re glad you found us. Let’s make mountain bike stories.
