Ride Report

An unexpectedly wet stretch in September and October subjected Tucson trails to lots of water. As a result, the 24 HOP course is somewhat scoured with plenty of small ruts and loose sand from runoff.

Overall, the loop weathered the storms well and is still running fine thanks to all the preventative trail work (drainages, etc.). No major issues. Even without additional work, it’ll be ridden into good shape through the winter.

Temps out there are great now!

Bottom line: Watch out for the (minor) rutting and sand traps if you ride it. Easy to lose that front tire in a few places!

Several gates often closed are currently standing open. Makes for a faster lap, which is nice but remember–leave gates as you found them (and certainly don’t let the cows out by leaving gates open that were closed).
