Cyclovia (April 2026)
April 12 All day
Car-Free Streets, All-Ages Riding
Cyclovia means miles of Tucson streets closed to cars. Open to bikes, skates, pedestrians, whatever gets you moving. Free activities, local vendors, neighborhoods actually accessible without dodging traffic.
April 12th, 2026. Runs through downtown and Amphi neighborhoods. Show up anytime, ride as much or as little as you want.
What It Is
Cyclovia shuts down city streets so people can use them. No cars. No stress. Just riding, walking, skating through Tucson without competing for pavement.
It’s not a race. It’s not organized rides. It’s just… streets, available. Families on cruisers. Kids learning to ride. Commuters testing routes. Random people on skateboards. Everyone coexisting on car-free asphalt for a few hours.
If you’ve ever wanted to ride through downtown Tucson without brake-checking at every intersection, this is that.
Why Mountain Bikers Might Care
Most Cyclovia participants aren’t all MTB people—this is a community street festival, not a trail event. But it’s useful if you want to:
- Test urban bike commuting routes without traffic
- Get your kids comfortable on bikes (car-free streets = low-stress learning)
- Support Tucson bike infrastructure advocacy (Living Streets Alliance pushes for better bike lanes, multi-use paths, and trail connections year-round)
- Ride yo bike and chill!
